Falcon Point
RTU – Houston’s First Choice for Dependable Roofing & Solar Solutions

Here’s something that surprises a lot of folks in Falcon Point – most of their roofs are already hitting 20-25 years old. Time flies when you’re living in a nice golf course community like this. These homes were mostly built in the late ’90s and early 2000s, so yeah, we’re talking about roofs that are getting up there in age.
Roofing Technologies Unlimited has been doing work in Falcon Point for over 5 years now, and honestly, it’s one of our favorite neighborhoods to work in. The homes here are pretty substantial; we’re talking 2,000 to 5,000 square feet typically – and a lot of them have these complex rooflines that keep things interesting for us. Multiple levels, dormers, valleys… it’s not your basic ranch house roof job.
The trees here are gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but they do create some headaches. We’re constantly dealing with debris, and when storms come through? Well, let’s just say we stay busy afterward. Being right there by I-10 and Grand Parkway means this area catches more wind than people think it will.
Property values here run anywhere from about $380K up to over $800K, so people rightfully expect quality work. Whether it’s fixing storm damage, basic maintenance, or a full roof replacement, we know it’s got to be done right. The community standards here are high, just look at that golf course and fitness center. Give us a call at (832) 841-4170 if you need anything roof-related.
Why Falcon Point Roofs Are Different
Look, the houses here are beautiful, but they’re not simple to roof. Most of these homes have multiple roof sections at different heights, plus you’ve got dormers and these intricate valley systems where water has to flow just right. It looks great from the street, but it means there are more places for leaves and debris to pile up.
Lot sizes here are pretty generous, 8,000 to 13,000 square feet typically; which usually means bigger, more complex roofing systems. Those mature oaks and pines? They’re fantastic for shade (your electric bills probably love them), but they also mean gutters fill up faster and there’s always the risk of branch damage during bad weather.
Being so close to the highways affects things more than most people realize. We’ve had to figure out which materials and installation methods work best with the wind patterns this area gets hit with. It matters when you’re talking about homes worth this much.
Texas Weather Doesn’t Care About Your Roof
We’ve been through some doozies here in Falcon Point. Severe weather is just part of life in Texas, and this neighborhood has definitely taken its hits over the years. The thing is, when you’ve got big trees and complex rooflines, both prep work and post-storm cleanup become more involved than in your typical suburban development.
We tell most Falcon Point homeowners to get their roofs looked at once a year, preferably before storm season really kicks in. And those gutters? Plan on cleaning them twice a year minimum. The tree coverage here just makes it necessary.
After major storms, we’ll often have 4 or 5 jobs going in the neighborhood at the same time. Could be anything from a few missing shingles to more serious damage, but the key is always catching stuff early before it becomes a real problem.
Picking the Right Materials
Working in Falcon Point over the years, we’ve helped homeowners figure out what makes sense for their specific situation. Given the home values and HOA requirements, most jobs here involve premium materials that’ll perform well and look good doing it.
The architectural styles here are varied enough that you’ve got options – good composition shingles, architectural shingles, even some of the more premium choices depending on what someone’s looking for and what their budget allows.
A lot of homeowners who are hitting that 20-25 year replacement point start thinking about energy efficiency too. Makes sense, these are bigger homes, so cooling costs add up. Upgraded materials that help with energy performance are worth considering.
How We Work with Homeowners Here
Falcon Point homeowners tend to be pretty informed about their properties, which we actually appreciate. They want to understand their options and why we’re recommending what we’re recommending. We’re not the kind of company that just shows up and says “trust us,” we explain what’s going on and why.
Communication matters as much as getting the work done right. These are significant investments people have made in their homes, and they deserve contractors who understand that. Whether it’s Roofing Technologies Unlimited handling routine maintenance or a complete roof replacement, we approach every job knowing it needs to meet the standards this community expects.
The goal is always protecting these investments while keeping things looking good. Falcon Point has a certain character to it, and any work we do needs to fit with that.
More about Falcon Point
Falcon Point really is one of the nicer established communities in the greater Katy area. You’ve got excellent schools; Rylander Elementary, WoodCreek Junior High, and Obra D. Tompkins High School are all top-notch – plus all the community amenities that make it attractive to families.
The location works well too. You can get to the Energy Corridor or downtown Houston without too much hassle, but you still get that suburban feel with the golf course, fitness center, tennis courts, swimming pool, and walking trails around the lake. The HOA keeps things looking sharp, and it shows. Below is a map showing you directions to RTU from Falcon Point.
